Taberna Ocho is one of the newest restaurants/bars to set up shop at Maginhawa St. in Quezon City, affirming that the area is slowly but surely becoming an alternative venue for individuals or groups looking for a place to hang out, drink ice cold beer, chat, and listen to good music.
Although the place is a typical watering hole, the bar promises patrons a place that will serve various appetizers not commonly found in most hangout places, aside from the usual “pulutan” fares.

The Chinese Lunar New Year is coming up. Time to see reds, fireworks, dancing dragons, and of course everyone’s favorite delicacy, tikoy (sticky rice cake) or the Chinese New Year Pudding. This and other Chinese food delights make the Filipino-Chinese celebration of the joyous event unique from its Asian counterparts.
The sweet tikoy is made from grounded rice flour, wheat starch, lard, water, and sugar. The sugar type determines the color of the pudding. That’s why when you go the stores, you have a choice of brown or white tikoy.

Plain old cereal with full cream milk three times a day plus two in-between snacks for eternity will make us go crazy. At Cerealicious, milk and cereals as meal even at lunch and dinner time is something to look forward to.
Cerealicious provided a modern concept and point of view regarding the all-time favorite breakfast cereals. “Cereals are great alternative for bread, rice, and other carbohydrate-rich foods. It is also a means to stimulate one’s appetite and prevent ourselves from stuffing so much food,” explained Cerealicious regular, Belle, a nursing graduate from the University of Santo Tomas and a self-confessed cereal lover.
