Cerealicious: The Ultimate Cereal Experience
By Valerie Tort
Plain old cereal with full cream milk three times a day plus two in-between snacks for eternity will make us go crazy. At Cerealicious, milk and cereals as meal even at lunch and dinner time is something to look forward to.
Cerealicious provided a modern concept and point of view regarding the all-time favorite breakfast cereals. “Cereals are great alternative for bread, rice, and other carbohydrate-rich foods. It is also a means to stimulate one’s appetite and prevent ourselves from stuffing so much food,” explained Cerealicious regular, Belle, a nursing graduate from the University of Santo Tomas and a self-confessed cereal lover.
“People choose cereals because some have honey, fruity or chocolate flavors unlike steamed plain rice that needed pork, chicken, beef, or vegetables to go with it. Cereals can be munched like corn or potato chips or soaked with milk for a smoothie-like drink,” the cereal lover added.
This is a new alternative to stave off hunger, to tame raging tummies, and to add some essential vitamins needed by the body most especially by people on-the-go like students and nurses or physicians on duty. Cereals are fortified with vitamins and minerals to protect us from diseases and stress-related illness, tension and pain.
The award winning cereal blockbusters are guaranteed to be the top favorites of frequent customers not only because of their Hollywood-inspired names but also due to the unique recipe.
According to the Cerealicious staff, the hall of fame Jelly Maguire has a generous serving of choco malt balls, showered with plain rice krispies, and coffee jelly drizzled with chocolate syrup, therefore making it a top choice for customers. The chocolate syrup added a little sweetness to the unsweetened milk.
The fruity blend of Froot Loose included melon and banana slices mixed with Froot Loops cereal and drizzled with honey. This is a cereal with real chunks of fresh fruits.
The chocolate dominated cereals and toppings of Cashewblanca made it to the cereal blockbuster. The crunchy and chewy texture will play with the taste buds. Thanks to Cocoa Frosties, brownies, and cashews for a simplified mouth-watering blend.
The added fiber of Fitnesse cereal in Apple-O 13 made it a certified hit for health-conscious customers and gym buffs. Apples, almond slivers, maple syrup and a dash of cinnamon created an apple pie a la mode resemblance placed in a cup. This carbohydrate and fiber-rich mixture makes it a perfect post-workout snack to refuel tired muscles.
Missed refrigerated cake? Erin Brocko-Peach is ready to answer your cravings for graham crackers, peaches, and Frosties. The creamy milk and sweetened canned peaches reformulated the graham cracker’s original taste.
Other cereal blockbusters are Jumango, a combination of corn flakes, mango, honey crumble, and strawberry syrup; Mona Kissa Smile, an enticing mixture of Coco Chex, mango, Hershey’s Kissables, and chocolate syrup; Banana Jones and The Temple of Doom, a blend of Fitnesse cereal, banana, raisin, and honey; Nerd of the Rings, a mix of Froot Loops, mago, and nerds candy; Harry Butter: Finger of Azkaban, a sumptuous serving of Butter Finger, Honey Crunch, candy sprinkles, and chocolate syrup; and more flavors with amusing titles.
Cereal blockbusters are available in trailer cup (a small cup without ice cream) for only 40 pesos and the blockbuster (a large cup with ice cream) for only 85 pesos.
Jenny Ravelo, another satisfied customer, preferred to create her own mix instead of picking a meal from the cereal blockbuster selection. Her favorite topping is a generous scoop of ice cream to her trailer cup.
Customizing the cereal choices to suit your own taste is possible with their Create Your Own menu. Cereal brands are enumerated as well as the different toppings to add pizzazz to an ordinary cereal and milk combination.
Some of the cereals included in their menu are Corn Flakes, Coco Chex, Fitnesse, Froot Loops, Honey Stars, Grape Nuts, Frosties, Koko Crunch, Honey Crunch, Cocoa Frosties, Trix, Cookie Crisps, Snow Flakes, Almond Clusters, and so much more.
Toppings that can go with the cereals and milk are rice krispies, ice cream, strawberry syrup, chocolate syrup, honey, oreo cookies, gummi bears, nerds, wafer stick, choco malt balls, honey, almond slivers, marshmallows, brownies, coffee jelly, candy sprinkles, brownies, white and milk chocolate kisses, nuts, and a lot more. With so much to choose from, cereals are no longer boring.
For health-conscious diners, fruits can be added to the milk instead of cereals or a combination of fruits and cereals. Mangoes, peaches, bananas, melons, and apples are some of the fruits available to choose from everyday.
Still searching for the lost appetite? Cereal smoochies can bring back your eagerness to eat with just a sip. Cereal smoochies are fruit shake like cereal meals. With four different flavors namely Banana Twist, Peanut Butter Brownie, Berry Mango, and Choo Choco, a serving for 95 pesos will be filling to the tummy.
“It is very rich and creamy, with fruit chunks to give the smoothie a bit of texture,” another student said. “The price is reasonable for the amount of food served by Cerealicious,” she added.
Cerealicious can give the ultimate cereal experience for its yummy and delectable treats not just for kids but for grown-ups too. These innocent and mouth-watering crunchies will surely be a healthier alternative in this fastfood nation.
Cerealicious is located on the second floor of UST Parking Building in Espańa, Taft Avenue, and ground floor of The Block in SM North Edsa.

Last Friday Feb 5, 2010, I had a harrowing experience at Cerealicious. my son wanted somethin to eat before having lunch at Shangrila Mall. We were on our way to Rustans, when he saw Cerealicious nearby. I told him i’ll look around at some shops, while he gets something to eat there. but, eventually i decided to go back to him at Cerealicious, to sit and wait for him instead, while he finishes eating…. to my surprise “banana split”. i went to the server and ask for “tap potable FREE water, but I was told they don’t have any,…. “but, she readily offered and said “they have though WATER FOR SALE!” duh! What gave them the idea that all their diners would be willing to BUY WATER? i know that bottled water costs not as much as the banana split, but, since they are a diner – I as a consumer would expect that they have concern for their diners who would not want to spend 20 bucks just to quench their thirst. it’s not that i’m being a scrooge, but …. I am really just in awe! “no drinkable FREE water”? and YES I didn’t have any choice, but shell out additional 20 bucks for a small sized bottled water.
I got hold of Joan, the cashier who gave me the name “Mrs. Paje” so I texted her, that it’s so unfair that I have to pay for water that my son has to drink to wash away the sweetness of the ice cream, as well as avoid having tonsilitis! well, she tried twice calling me back, but unfortunately i was almost outta batt. but, she never bothered texting me.
anyway, i just personally feel that companies, proprietors, owners in the food business, should at least show concern for us diners who are not “rich” or too particular with water, that we could settle for FREE drinking water. Why do we have to buy water? Because it is sealed and in a bottle? It doesn’t necessarily mean, since it’s filtered, ergo clean. In the same way, that we do not have any choice of how they serve their food – to think that it is necessarily clean …
I am just one of the numerous middle class mothers I’m sure would agree, that we should not necessarily buy water when we eat at diners, especially, Shangrila Mall is one of the high end Malls. I just hope someone will do something…. I could’ve paid the 20 bucks instead to the Php45 worth of parking fee…
