Luckyway Chicken and Kebab Restaurant’s Charm
By Valerie Tort
The charisma of Middle Eastern cuisine continues to invade the streets of Malate as Luckyway Chicken and Kebab Restaurant served authentic Arab dishes.
The family-style restaurant is appealing since it has a casual and homey ambiance that can accommodate all walks of life as opposed to an upscale fine dining establishment. Diners are afloat in a gastronomic sea of culinary cultural influence in Luckway Chicken and Kebab Restaurant as it focused not only on the Arab cuisine but also the Filipino, Chinese, American, and Italian cuisine.

Roasted chicken, vegetables and rice served with the flavors of the Middle East
Houmus is a typical appetizer in Arabic and Greek cuisine which is high in protein and fiber. The appetizer made from soaked and grinded chickpeas (garbanzos) and sesame paste with mixed tahini (an Arabic spice), herbs, and olive oil formed into a paste. The filling meal starter is usually eaten with pita bread (flat bread) or used as a dip or sauce for other recipes and snacks. A bowl of houmus that can be shared by two people is only 95PHP. It already comes with a fresh-from-the-oven flour tortilla.
Another kind of vegetarian appetizer for health conscious individuals in Luckyway Chicken and Kebab Restaurant is Motabal. Motabal is made from pureed grilled eggplant mixed with sesame oil and also served with pita bread for another gastronomic satisfaction. For only 95PHP, two to three persons can share the meal starter.
Another similar variety of Motabal is Baba Ganoush. The difference is that the Middle Eastern specialty made from pureed eggplant mixed with yogurt, tahini, and cumin powder.
Other snack items at Luckyway include Kabab sticks of beef or chicken and the flavorful Shawarma.
Fans of Middle Eastern food would never miss their piece of delight in each bite of the popular Shawarma. Luckway serves your choice of beef or chicken shawarma enveloped in hot and soft taco bread. The burrito-like specialty of the Middle Eastern cuisine is also similar to a roast beef or chicken sandwich served with tomatoes and other vegetables available. Eating to your heart’s content of the Shawarma is a common experience at Luckyway since they serve onions and meat generously in each pita roll ordered.
Luckyway Chicken and Kebab Restaurant also serves other Filipino and Chinese dishes aside from their specialty. Some of the local dishes included in their value meal are Chopsuey, Pansit Bihon, Pansit Canton, Roasted Chicken, Bulalo, Sinigang na Baboy, Nilagang Baka, and a lot more depending on their menu for the day. For rice dishes, they include a serving of beef broth with vegetables as an appetizer.
Italian favorites like calzone and spaghetti are also served. Calzone is similar to a pizza but it is rolled like an empanada and stuffed with various slices of meat, veggies, and hot melted cheese. Spaghetti is served in red meat sauce with a garlic toast for less than a hundred pesos.
Aside from Calzone and spaghetti, other Italian favorites offered by Luckyway are Garlic Milk Pizza, Supreme Stuffed Pizza, Tuna Mushroom Pizza, Chicken Pizza, and Double Spaghetti.
For American cuisine, hotcakes for breakfast are served as early as 6AM together with the fried hotdog and your choice of rice (plain or garlic). Burger cravings are also accommodated by the restaurant with their Double Cheeseburger Sandwich.
For early morning diners, breakfast includes a choice of Beef Tapa, Chicken Liver, Daing na Bangus, Corned Beef, and Hotcakes with prices ranging from 60PHP to 90PHP.
Luckyway Chicken and Kebab is open 24 hours and also accommodates delivery service within Malate area.
Luckyway Chicken and Kebab Restaurant is a culinary melting pot of the favorite recipes among these different cuisines worldwide. Taste and enjoy the difference of Luckyway Restaurant.
