Inasal: all-time favorite Visayan food

April 11th, 2007 by Ugly_betty

Filipino’s love to eat! And one all-time favorite Pinoy comfort food is a Visayan original recipe, native chicken barbecue or more commonly known as “inasal”. Now, who would have more authority in engaging in inasal business than a Visayan himself, veteran actor Joel Torre’s JT’s Manukan and Grille.

JT’s Manukan and Grille is located along Esguerra St., in Quezon City just a few blocks away from ABS-CBN and GMA.

Chicken inasal, favorite Visayan Pinoy foodWhat i like about their inasal is that you can taste the native herbs that they put in the marinated chicken. And what’s more, you will not get bored waiting for your order because you can see how they grilled your inasal. They have this long charcoal-grilled area outside where you can see your inasal being cooked and served to you in a native wooden plate fresh from the grill.

The ambiance is great too! It’s an open-area, with native tables and chairs, typical of that a grill house. Its clean and the service is good and fast. It’s a good place to relax and unwind with family and friends without thinking of the high cost of the food. JT’s manukan and grille offers affordable prices depending on the chicken part that you like. My favorite pecho costs around 85-90 pesos.

Like I said, JT’s Manukan and Grille is owned by veteran actor Joel Torre, an Iloilo native. Like the celebrity owner, JT’s manukan is fast becoming a favorite among stars. Among its regular clients are Gretchen Barreto,Lucy Torres and Richard Gomez.

Is there a difference if it’s bacolod or iloilo chicken inasal? I’m only familiar bout bacolod inasal because of Bacolod Chicken Inasal. I actually eat there a lot.

  5. pie gabriel Says:

i don’t really know if there is a difference between bacolod inasal and iloilo inasal but of course bacolod’s inasal is the famous one. But i can say that Bacolod Chicken Inasal na kainan is not that delicious compared to the chicken inasal in bacolod’s manokan country near SM Bacolod. So if u want to try d certified delicious inasal then visit bacolod. (From Bacolod Resident mismo)
