Arabela Café – Cosmopolitan dishes in the heart of Laguna (a Photo Blog)

December 16th, 2009 by Sean John

If you suddenly just appeared inside Arabela Café, you would never believe that you’re in the middle of Liliw, Laguna. The low ceiling, quaint tables, the art-and-vintage inspired decor, the tasty dishes off a very cosmopolitan menu would probably remind you of a small café in the middle of the city. In reality though, Arabela Café is already a fixture in most visitors’ schedules when they visit or even just pass by the town of Liliw.

Tsibog.com‘s resident wanderer and photo guru Gerry D trekked Southern Luzon, they made it a point to stop by Liliw, shop for some local footwear (Liliw is home to a booming shoe industry) and of course sample the food at Arabela Café.

Liliw is a small town, and the town proper is very easy to navigate. Arabela is known all over town, people on the street are used to visitors asking for its location, and can easily point you to the places.

The menu at Arabela Café is fairly affordable, more so when you start comparing it to city pricing. And the dishes are fairly agreeable — they are known for their pasta dishes, there’s pizza, salads, rice meals, and even steaks for those who want a heavier meal.

I recommend the place as a hang-out for the boys, while the ladies go around shopping for shoes. The ambiance is comfortable — although Gerry D did mention the low ceilings — the food is nice, the service is relatively fast, and there are pastries to look forward to after your meal. Arabela is a town café at its very best.
