Cotta Native Lechon – Lucena’s Tasty Roasted Pig
Lechon is arguably one of the favorite specialty foods for Filipinos in and outside of the Philippines. If the sight and smell of a whole pig roasted to perfection brings pleasure, what more the taste of it? I have tasted many types and variants of lechon from different places in the Philippines – from North to South – but last week it was my first time to taste the Native Lechon made by the Cotta family in Lucena City, Quezon Province.

inside this red foil lies great tasting lechon… unwrap now!
We were a group traveling in a van and were headed to Silangan Nayon Park in Pagbilao for our lunch, our host arranged for us a buffet lunch but we all insisted on lechon which was not served by the caterer. So, we opted to get one whole Cotta Native Lechon.

when are we gonna unwrap this roasted pig? it’s calling my name…
The roasted pig was wrapped in red foil – ready to eat – and also packed to take out for travelers. When we finally laid down the lechon… We were not disappointed after unwrapped it’s shiny red foil. The Cotta Native Lechon is roasted and cooked to perfection, the skin is shiny and crispy – the inside meat is chewy and juicy – yummm. And the Lechon SARSA (sauce) is truly a meal on its own (Sarsa pa lang, ulam na).

ouch… yummy… who’s side are you on?
Our hosts advised not to cut and slice the lechon, instead let each person take their own pickings, peel their own portions of the crispy skin, and dig into their own bits of tender juicy lechon meat. That was a fantastic idea as it was very exciting for all to dig in, and dig in they did.

calm before the storm. “take me, I’m yours”
I will not attempt to describe the taste of the Cotta Native Lechon other than to say it is very delicious. No, it was very very delicious. Crispy outside. Tender and juicy inside. Sounds like a commercial huh? I dare you to try Cotta Native Lechon and tell me if you think otherwise. Just take a look at these pictures of lechon and you will get the idea how tasty Cotta’s roasted pig can be.

who’s hand is that? the culprits! stay away from my lechon.
Now that I’ve whet your appetite for Cotta native lechon, here’s how you can get one. You may need to go to Lucena City or know someone in Lucena City who can get it for you. Cotta Native Lechon is a Philippine business owned and operated by Mr and Mrs. Godofredo Robedillo at Dulo ng cotta in Lucena City. To order, you may contact Agnes at mobile phone 0919-649-5488 or telephone numbers 710-3572, 788-8082 and 660-7874.

they’re all over the lechon. gotta put down this camera now and eat some..
Obviously this lechon was too big for us to finish, no problem. Leftover lechon is great for LECHON PAKSIW! yummmyyy.

don’t worry, you will still make great LECHON PAKSIW!
Lechon is Roasted whole Pig, also known in the Philippines as LITSON. LECHON is the Spanish term for suckling pig.

Wow!
Ang Lechon Cebu pwede mo din i saw saw sa suka with garlic, kalamansi and hot red pepper Wow! Pwede rin kayong bumili nang Sukang Pinakurat kasi maasim na maasim at maanghan yun.

Lechon cebu your the BEST talaga.

I agree. Lechon cebu taste good. They use native pig for lechon that is why the meat was tender. And they use lemon grass, anise, onion, garlic and many more and stuffed in belly thats make the meat flavorful. Wow ang sarap at ang sarap ng amoy. Oh i miss lechon cebu so much.
