Special Valentine Recipes For The Sweet Tooth
Wondering what to give your special someone this Valentine’s Day? Why not some Valentine dessert goodies?
If you ask me nothing says ‘I love you’ like homemade sweets that you have labored over just so you can make your Valentine gift truly a work of love. One fine suggestion is baking a Valentine chocolate cookie or a delectable Valentine dessert.
Follow the old saying that the way to your partner’s heart is through their stomach.
Ponder on these simple yet mouth-waterring Valentine recipes:
Valentine Chocolate Cookie
1 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cup flour
1 cup cashew or any nuts, chopped fine
1 pack chocolate kisses
1 cup powdered sugar
Baking Instruction:
Beat the butter, sugar and vanilla at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add flour and nuts on low speed until well-blended. Chill dough for 2 hours. For each cookie, use about 1 tablespoon of dough to encase one chocolate kiss completely. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until set but not brown, about 8 to 10 minutes. Remove and roll in powdered sugar.
Strawberry Meringue Tarts
1 cup Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
1/8 teaspoon Salt
3 Egg, get egg whites only
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 teaspoon Vinegar
1 teaspoon Water
1 Fresh sliced
Baking Instruction:
Sift the sugar with the baking powder and salt. Combine the sugar mixture, vanilla, vinegar and water. Add the mixture 1/2 teaspoon at a time to the egg whites while beating constantly. When all ingredients have been mixed, continue to beat for several minutes. Place large spoonfuls on baking sheet and shape into shallow cups. Bake at 225 degrees F. for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Remove the meringues form the sheet quickly and cool them on rack. Fill with the small slices of strawberry.
Valentine Marshmallow Puffs
36 large marshmallows
1-1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
2 tablespoon butter or margarine
Preparation:
Line one pan with foil and butter the foil, a 9-inch pan would be perfect. Arrange the marshmallows in the pan. In a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Pour the mixture over the marshmallows. Chill completely. Cut chilled dessert between the marshmallows. Makes 3 dozen.
